Hieroglyphics of a Soul's Journey

Once upon a time there was a young girl without a voice. She had speech, but it was empty. In vain she tried to force the square pegs through round holes, but to no avail. So she drew. And though there was fascination, nobody spoke in doodles. Alone, alone. In desperation she carved the hieroglyphics into her flesh because surely blood would be understood, but there was only fear and anger. But the light came and with it, her voice. At first a whisper, now a song. This is my journey.
